Abstract:
Hybrid control has become popular in many smart systems such as robotics and aircrafts. Such systems incorporate functions of sensing, actuation, and decision making in order to achieve a desired goal. This talk discusses hybrid control of nonlinear systems with time delays. The problem of stabilization is studied by using both switching control and impulsive control. New criteria are established which guarantee asymptotic or exponential stability of the controlled systems with time delays. The criteria found are based on a special type of state-dependent switching rule which partitions the state space into stabilizing subregions.
